Dr. Alison Longwell

It is my honor to be part of the Wildkitten family where we have the best students, staff and families. I am happy that you are part of our Wildkitten family. The staff members at TUE are caring professionals who go above and beyond to help your child succeed both socially and academically. We are excited to work as a team to help your child feel safe and supported each and every day.

Relationships are necessary to achieve our goals, so I would love to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Alison Longwell and this is my first year in the Blue Springs Schools District. Though I am new to Blue Springs, I am not new to the Kansas City area as I grew up in Lee's Summit where I attended and graduated from Lee's Summit High School. I moved to Springfield, Missouri to attend Missouri State University and loved it so much that I stayed there after graduation to serve the students and families of that area for 10 years. I served in the following roles while in southwest Missouri:

  • First grade teacher at Logan-Rogersville Primary School in Rogersville, Missouri
  • Third grade STEAM-certified teacher at John Thomas School of Discovery in Nixa, Missouri
  • Instructional Coach in the Camdenton School District in Camdenton, Missouri

While teaching, I earned my Master's degree in Educational Administration from Missouri State University and my Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Southwest Baptist University. I also developed a passion for integrating science and social studies content into the other curricular areas.

After receiving my doctorate, I was blessed to serve as the Elementary Principal at Fordland Elementary in Fordland, Missouri. Leading in this small town reaffirmed my love for building on student and staff strengths to create a community that seeks to support students both academically and socially. I love working with students, staff and families to help children realize and achieve their goals.

Personally, I have been married to my wonderful husband, Clint, since May 2021. Clint teaches history and government at Blue Springs South. We enjoy traveling and spending time with our three dogs. I also enjoy reading, dance and yoga.

I look forward to working with you this school year to best serve your child. A team approach, paired with high expectations and differentiated support, will be the key to our success in serving your child. Our school is a safe and welcoming place for all children and I am so happy you are here.
